TIP_RTP_202107 contains features that represent all approved projects in the SEMCOG FY 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the 2045 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). The TIP data was exported from the MDOT Open Data Portal (https://gis-mdot.opendata.arcgis.com/). Both the "STIP Lines (All Projects)" and "STIP Points (All Projects)" datasets were exported on September 2, 2021. Features that did not pertain to the SEMCOG TIP were discarded and any SEMCOG TIP features that were showing a location outside of the seven-county SEMCOG region were moved to locations within the SEMCOG region. Attribute table fields needed for interactive map display were added and populated for both datasets (Project Type, Federal Aid Committee, Jurisdiction, Performance Area) and unused standard fields were deleted. Both the point and line STIP datasets were converted to polygons with 500 foot buffers around the features. These two polygon datasets were then merged together into one polygon dataset to make one TIP polygon feature class. The latest SEMCOG RTP polygon feature class, comprised of future planned projects that are not covered by the TIP, was merged together with the TIP polygon feature class to make the complete SEMCOG_TIP_RTP_202107 polygon feature class.
