Description: SEMCOG created this feature class to use in conjunction with Roads & Highways version-22 event tables to generate point and line features via dynamic segmentation. It contains one feature for each PR number in the region. Since all road, rail, and trail features in Roads & Highways have valid PR numbers, this route feature class encompasses all such features, not just roads. SEMCOG created the routes with a precision that ensures that differences in mile point values of at least 0.00001 (five digits after the decimal) along the same PR will result in point features that do not lie on top of one another, and line features that are not zero-length. SEMCOG maintains an application that allows users to create line event tables based on these routes, and do so more efficiently than is possible using only ESRI's built-in tools. SEMCOG also maintains a separate application for migrating point and line event-table data from one MGF or Roads & Highways version to another.
